Enjoy A Sweet Escape: The Amsterdam Chocolate Festival 2026 (February 21-22)

Flavor and Sustainability in the Heart of the City

Amsterdam Chocolate Festival

The festival will be held at the historic Beurs of Berlage, located right in the city center. This year, the event is built around three central themes: taste, culinary experience, and sustainable cocoa. It serves as a meeting point where more than 100 chocolate makers from across the globe gather to share their passion and craftsmanship with the public, professional chefs, and retailers.

What to Expect
The weekend is dedicated to the sensory journey of cocoa. Visitors can look forward to:
• Tastings: Discover and sample more than 35 different types of chocolate from international makers.
• The Pairing Square: Participate in dozens of masterclasses and tastings focused on surprising flavor combinations. Here, you can explore how chocolate pairs with wine, whisky, coffee, cheese, and other gourmet delicacies.
• Workshops and Education: Learn about the fascinating journey from bean to bar through various workshops, presentations, and interactive sessions.

Part of Amsterdam Cocoa Week
The festival is not just a treat for the general public; it is a key component of Amsterdam Cocoa Week. During this week, professionals from over forty different countries converge on the city, making Amsterdam the global hub for the cocoa industry.

Practical Information
If you don't want to miss this chocolate spectacle, keep in mind that tickets are required for entry. The festival offers a unique opportunity to dive deeper into the world of high-quality chocolate—far beyond the standard supermarket shelves—and to connect directly with the makers themselves.

Whether you are visiting for the expert masterclasses at the Pairing Square or simply to taste some of the world's finest cocoa, the Amsterdam Chocolate Festival promises to be an inspiring and delicious highlight of the winter season.

Did you know that the Dutch are the true masters of ice-skating? In total till date the Dutch won more than 130 speed-skating medals on all combined Olympic Games, more than any other country. It’s true that the geographical conditions make the Netherlands a suitable country for ice-skating: flat and a lot of water. Next to that, Holland has great indoor and outdoor ice rink facilities. And Amsterdam is no exception. So why not try and hit the ice when spending your time in Amsterdam during the winter months? Probably the most beautiful and pittoresque ice-rink of Amsterdam, and maybe even Europe, is on the Museumplein. Here you can skate right next to the magnificent Rijksmuseum. Unfortunately for the 2025/26 winter season the Museumplein ice-rink is currently closed. But there is a great other option to glide through Amsterdam this winter season. When you want plenty of space for ice-skating, the Jaap Eden baan in Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer is a good place to be and open ...
